Ohio State University Hackathon: HackOHI/O

Students Win Top Lamden [Blockchain] & Community Favorite Challenge, Overall Social Media Challenge

Following midterms, our ACM chapter sent not one, but three (3) teams to OSU’s HackOHI/O 36-hour hackathon! One team, WฦŽ ฮ›I (pronounced as “We A. I.”), won the Lamden Challenge: sponsored by a blockchain startup whose CEO hails from OSU as a 2016 grad. WฦŽ ฮ›I consisted of Maximilian Evans, Emily Zhao (our ACM Secretary), Valerie Jarvis, and Ian Wu. Major congrats!

They also won the Community Favorite Challenge for Lamden — this was determined via popular vote from a designated page on Reddit. One group member in particular, Emily Zhao, took home an additional $25 prize of HackOHI/O’s Social Media Challenge through an original video filmed using TikTok.

Altogether, the team won $400 cash with a bonus $250 as the community favorite.
